What's the most ridiculous thing you were ever counselled on?
by micheal inone of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.
they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.
i was once counselled for joking around too much.

beryl that's horrible, just horrible.
While walking into the KH at about age 14 with my parents an elder spoke up from behind us and said "sister, I can see your panty line" at which time my father spoke up and said "brother, what are you doing staring at my daughters butt".
I got consuled a lot, all the time because I just didn't believe it was the truth and only went to please my parents. I was given public reproof while the sister I was sinning with (pioneer, elders daughter) got nothing.

on the news last night the father of one of lynch's company of soldiers was on tv stating that since his son was part of her experience that she should share the profits from her book.
his son was killed in that battle in iraq.

Can't imagine why an Iraqi doctor would make things up about the rescue? Well I can imagine something. I can imagine the fear the Iraqi people have of Saddem and his murdering regime, I can imagine saying almost anything to protect my family. I can imagine being honest and then finding my entire family slaughtered.

I am going to actively campaign for Hillary as I believe she will carry on the Clinton and democratic tradition of having sex with young interns sooooo this might give me a chance to be the first woman to have lesbian sex with a President.
Of course my eyes will stay closed, they'll have to.

Yeru I know you've spoken from your experiences but obviously we have people here with zero experience who offer opinions as though they are facts. I know about gps's and responded a bit about them. I was offering a general observation about how easily ex-dubs believe whatever they want to believe as if the other side has nothing to offer. Sort of like how churches are the tools of satan, nothing else, no good comes from them at all.

Not a single person on this forum has a single shred of hard evidence as to what happened to Lynch or what happened during her rescue. Yet facts are exchanged here like they are the truth. Polictical inclinations seem to pass for facts I guess.
I can see why so many here believed the BS the watchtower handed down. You want to believe something so your beliefs pass for truth.
You'd think we'd learn.

Bug almost everything on this thread is specluation but some state their information as though it were hard facts. Such as when Simon said the troops used blanks, well one of his sources said that. Now that is just silly and obviously lousy speculation.
Too bad everything about this has to have a negative slant put on it. Jessica Lynch served her country and the money she was after was what, a 20,000 bonus after working 3 years for about minimum wage? Oh what a whore she is

New here, got a question
by kj ini just wanted to let you know how much i have enjoyed reading your posts.
i am not and have never been a jw, but my husband and i both have a lot of family who are.
my mother was sucked into it in 1999. i have a question, is it true that jws are forbidden to set foot in any church other than the kingdom hall?

My parents and I have attended several weddings and funerals in churchs without a problem when we were active. But if we were to say have attended an Easter or Christmas mass, then that would be grounds for disfellowshipping.
